This week Joshua Ledet chose Fantasia’s “I Believe” as his Millennium song on American Idol. He shared that she was a huge inspiration for him when auditioning for the show. Let’s also not forget he’s been dubbed Mantasia this year. Jimmy Iovine fears Joshua is getting tired and needs to pick it up this week so America backs him again.
Joshua definitely related to the song and could sell the message to the audience. He sounded nearly perfect singing Fantasia. It may be bold to say, but he sounded better than the original! The judges gave him a standing ovation. Read more & comment »

Last week the American Idol shocker was when golden child Jessica Sanchez was voted off! The judges used their one save to keep her around. This week she came back with Alicia Keys “Fallin’” to show America why the judges did save her. Jimmy Iovine warned her in rehearsals that she does not show her personality and America’s not connecting with her. He failed to mention that she also comes off full of herself. Read more & comment »

Phillip Phillips needed a bit of a comeback over a weak performance on American Idol last week. For the second time this season he chose an unlikely Usher song to win over every girl in America. Last time it was “Nice and Slow,” but this week he chose a less suddel, “U Got it Bad.” Now, we’re all use to Phillip with his bluesy versions of every song, so no one knew what to expect. Elise Testone isn’t sure why she always bounces in and out of the bottom three on American Idol. Jimmy Iovine thinks her biggest problem is that she doesn’t have as big of a fan base as other contestants, so America votes on a week to week basis. This means when she does great, she soars high, but when she bombs, people want her off the show. This week she chose Alicia Keys’ “No One” to win over some votes. Read more & comment »

Colton being a non-conformist pianist...
Colton Dixon felt he’s lost his rock edge on American Idol. He worked with Jimmy Iovine to create a rock rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” During rehearsals Jimmy told him he had to hit the chorus high notes because they were the power spots. He also warned that the tempo could be a problem. “If it comes off too fast, you’re dead.” Read more & comment »

Hollie Cavanagh returned this week on American Idol with Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” Now, I can’t deny that I groaned when Hollie shared her song selectionf or the week because I’m openly oversatuated by Adele on singing competitions. However, this is the only the second time that Hollie chose a song that actually fit her vocal ability. If any girl on American Idol has the perfect voice for Adele, it is Hollie. When she stays on pitch, her voice is rich and strong. Despite what the judges say, she is the girl with the best voice on American Idol. Read more & comment »

Karla Davis looked like the worst performance of the night on The Voice, that is until Erin Martin took the title. Tonight Cee Lo chose The Bangles’ “Walk Like an Egyptian” for the model-turned-singer because he felt it was quirky with the edge that she needed. During rehearsal Cee Lo noted that she has a lot to show fans of The Voice because there was backlash when she won her battle round.
Unfortunately, despite Erin’s best efforts this didn’t happen. Instead of coming out and showing her aggressive voice, she sang it with an awkward indie twang that was not appropriate for the song at all. The worst part was that there was so much dancing going on around her that she got lost on the stage. She did try hard to include synchronized dancing that pulled the crowd in for a bit.

Apparently the ladies LOVE James Massone. Tonight Cee Lo assigned him a challenge with Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why.” Usually James shows everyone his R&B/soul side, but this week Cee Lo felt he should show a softer side.
James managed to pull the song off because he can get into his falsetto and sound good. His boyish charm doesn’t hurt, and the ladies couldn’t help but scream over the top of him. He seems to bring a laid back vibe to The Voice showing he can sing, wants to do well, but is completely confident in who he is already. Personally, I didn’t like the song choice at all, but I’m not a 13-year-old girl either.

The Bachelor has officially come to an end and fans of the show are enraged that Ben Flajnik chose model Courtney Robertson as his fiancee. The season showed plenty of drama as Courtney did everything she could to make enemies while “wooing” Bachelor Ben. Once America let down their guard and really let the model know how they felt about her, Courtney went on the reunion show with an apology that basically went, “I’m apologizing because people don’t like the way I treated the other women on the show.”
All of the eliminated girls agree that her apology was far from sincere. It’s no secret that even Bachelor Ben had enough of her catty backstabbing as he broke up with her as the show aired. The two have since reconciled and want to work on their relationship, even though Ben was spotted with numerous women while the two were apart. Read more & comment »

Good Morning America announced the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 14 this morning. The front runner in every Wisconsinite’s heart for Dancing With the Stars is no doubt Green Bay Packer’s wide receiver Donald Driver. The Green Bay Packers have the craziest and most loyal fans in the entire NFL, as DWTS declined in ratings last year, this is definitely one way to get an entire state to tune in.
Though Donald Driver is veteran Packer player, most non-Packers fans only identify players like quarterback Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver Jordy Nelson or Clay Matthews as the face of the Packers. Just who is this season’s star athlete? Read more & comment »
