Are you ready for tomboyish teenaged deer hunter, Skylar Laine? We see our latest American Idol hopeful auditioning in Galveston, riding a 4×4 and working in the family store. The seventeen year old comes across a spunky and fun – a real spitfire personality that leaves the Idol judges in no doubt what they’re dealing with.

We see Skylar out a-hunting in the woods, and then there’s a bizarre small town focus on her family-run store. It’s even more bizarre when you consider that all the produce is blurry. Except for the fridge with the Coca Cola in it. I wonder why that could be?

Skylar serenades our ever-patient judges with Hell On Heels by Pistol Annies. Jennifer Lopez says “We know exactly who she is, and that’s part of what I love about her.” And Skylar gets a free pass to Hollywood.

Of course, before she leaves the audition, Skylar reveals that her friend is a Steven Tyler fanatic. And our rubber-lipper pension-age hero kindly agrees to meet her friend!

We loved Skylar’s audition – she came across as sassy and confident and had an excellent country twang to her vocals. The judges very quickly picked up on that, and based on gut feeling, we could be seeing more of Skylar in Hollywood. Did you guys enjoy her audition tonight?
