CMT’s Next Superstar: Bri Bagwell, Adrienne Beasley, Courtney Cole, Danielle Lauderdale, Andrea Person, Steven Clawson, Matt Dame, Matt Mason, Ben Smith & Wynn Varble

CMT have revealed the identities of the five men and five women who are set to fight for the title of CMT’s Next Superstar.

The season will premiere on Friday, April 8 at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT and will be hosted by the stunning Thea Andrews (“Top Chef Canada,” ESPN, “Entertainment Tonight”).

In each episode of the ten episode series, CMT will search to find America’s next great country star and will open the door for undiscovered singer/songwriters who think they have what it takes to make it in the country music industry.

So You Think You Can Dance’s Nigel Lythgoe to launch CMT’s Next Superstar

So You Think You Can Dance boss Nigel Lythgoe has revealed that he has joined forces with CMT and will soon launch a new country music reality TV show.

Lythgoe, who also returned as executive producer on American Idol this season, will be working his son Simon on the show titled CMT’s Next Superstar which aims to find the “next great country star”.

“This isn’t just a singing competition, the contestants will also be judged on their songwriting, radio interviews and music videos,” said Lythgoe.
