Formerly rejected American Idol hopeful Baylie Brown last auditioned for the show five years ago when she was 16. Back then she made it to Hollywood and group round before being rejected after a disasterous ‘forgetting the lyrics’ incident.

Now 21 years old, and seemingly much wiser, Nashville resident Baylie returns to Galveston to audition for the show once more. For those of us who weren’t watching Idol five years ago, we get to watch her original audition and relive what looked to be a rather unpleasant personality clash with her two Jersey-girl group members. Speaking about her first audition:

It was a really tough experience. I was just a baby at the time. I was sixteen. I’ve definitely grown and matured. I’m ready.

She sings Bon Jovi’s Bed Of Roses for the judges and gets instant yeses from all three judges. The audition isn’t flashy, and Baylie styled herself exquisitely – she was dressed nicely, but nothing too revealing. And her voice had a really clean tone to it which we think could make her quite a good pop artist if she’s given the right songs.

Randy Jackson tells Baylie that she was good, but she got significantly better. Jennifer Lopez comments that her name is a country star name. Either way, Baylie earns herself a second chance at Hollywood. Let’s hope she makes it this time round!
